Spring Has Sprung!

Picking Daffodils for Mommy
My spring flowers are popping up everywhere! My yard is currently a wonderland for little boys who want to surprise their mommies! What fun it was to watch these two little fellows gather up bunches of daffodils to take home to their moms.

George - Slalom on The Pocomoke, Digital Art

If you've ever water skied, you know how much fun it is to spend the day out on the boat with family, food and plenty of cold drinks in the cooler. This is my husband, George last summer doing his thing on the beautiful Pocomoke River. We bought a boat about 35 years ago and the Firefly, as we call her, is still pulling strong and looking better than ever!

Winter Cabin

We have had an unusual amount of snow this year and were blasted by a blizzard this weekend. On Sunday the air was crisp and the sun was out. I took my camera down some of the backroads in our area and got some great shots. This little building was really photogenic and was the perfect subject for creating digital art. Click the photo to enlarge and leave a comment below if you'd like. I hope you enjoy this one.

My latest article is on EmptyEasel.com today. It's about how to effectively create a sense of distance in a painting. The information is applicable to any painting medium. Here's the link: http://tinyurl.com/yfxc4qm . In the article, I use two of my paintings to illustrate some of the points I make in the article. If you paint, I'd appreciate knowing if the article was helpful to you.

Fun With Portrait Photos

Digital Art
Playing with shapes, color and texture is so much fun! Did I go too far?
Have you checked out my new website yet?

Digital Alteration - Vintage Style!

In His Element
Click Photo for Enlarged View
I took this photo last week at a local ball field. This little fellow is quite serious about his baseball! I thought this would make a great vintage-style photograph. Since the "Just Do It" Nike phrase did not seem to blend with the vintage concept, I digitally removed the letters. Digital artwork of all styles can be applied to any image. I do accept commissioned work so do contact me if you have an image you'd like to turn into digital art.

Digital Abstraction of Roses

Digital Manipulation Challenge

WetCanvas, an online artist community is always a fascinating source of art, mentoring and advice. This morning I participated in a digital photo manipulation challenge where a member posted a photo of beautiful red roses for others to digitally alter and submit. This is my second version. The challenge was a lot of fun.

New Studio Companion

Cloe at 3 Months
Yes, she is as sweet as she looks. Her big brother Chance (rescue dog adopted this Jan.) definitely is wary of her. We think it's because he has chronic ear problems and of course, Chloe goes right for his big floppy ears! Currently, we aren't able to let Chloe on the floor in the vicinity of Chance. Our lives are governed by where the pet gates are placed! It is so wonderful to have this little one in the studio. I miss our beloved old Megan (world-class studio Buddy) so Chloe is certainly a blessing to me every day.
