I admit it...I am a birdwatcher! My studio has two large windows in it facing our backyard. My camera is generally mounted on my tripod at the window with the best view of the backyard and bird feeders. I have several feeders and enjoy hosting and photographing my visitors. There have always been robins in the area but never near the feeders, much to my dismay. However, suddenly they descended this weekend upon the two berry producing trees near the feeders. They were frantic in their sudden pursuit of the new found treats. Their gluttony was fascinating to watch. I got some nice shots and am sharing them with you today. Digital Art - An Explanation

Since I have been posting my digital artwork, several people have emailed me about what it actually is. I thought since I've had several enquiries, I'd post a before and after image. So here goes!

Some may recognize this reference photo from a painting I did last year.

As you can see, the "before photo" was a nice but standard photograph taken on a back road with little in the way of interesting background. The digital artwork I created from the photo shows off the vintage Porsche beautifully against a vivid background. Most of the elements in the photo were used but I removed some of the telephone and electric poles and created more visual contrast. This is perfect for enlarging and framing as a photo or making into a large poster. Some examples of what I can do with everyday digital photographs. Enhancing and digitally altering them can turn the commonplace photo into a beautiful, dynamic image. "Looking Through My Lens" is Launched

The transition is complete! This blog will now feature my photography and digital art. I hope you will enjoy looking a little more closely at the world as I see it through my camera lens. Future posts will include my photography and digital artwork as I focus my lens on my favorite subjects - the coastal areas, landscapes, wildlife and people of the Eastern Shore. I do occasionally travel away from this land of pleasant living so I'll take you along (a virtual trip, of course!) as I focus in on the interesting sites and people I encounter along the way.
