Hesitation

24" x 18" Oil on Canvas

We live near several wonderful beaches. Even if I ignored all other sources of inspiration, I would have more than enough just focusing on human interaction at the beach! This little boy is being encourged by his grandfather to come into the water with him. The water is cold and it's rough and even though he pictures himself riding the waves on his boogie board, he is hesitant to make the plunge. A day at the beach is such a wonderful way to bring families together! I hope you like this painting, it was certainly fun to do! Click on the image for a closer view. This painting is currently a part of my one woman show in the Foyer Gallery at the Art Institute & Gallery in Salisbury, MD. The show closes November 15th. Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing this painting.
