I know this is my photography blog but I wanted to let you know I'm teaching a beginner's watercolor class during February at the Delmarva Discovery Center. This watercolor painting is the project for the class. It's a scene from the docks right there at the Center on the Pocomoke River. You can click on the painting for an enlarged view. Commissioned Digital Artwork - Porsche 914
I guess it's pretty obvious that we are Porsche enthusiasts. We are members of PCA (Potomac Region) and several online groups. This client from one of my groups, emailed me a digital photo of his 914 which was parked in his driveway. It was fun to work on because the car is similar to ours. It was an excellent candidate for digital artwork as the quality was sufficient for my purposes. However, the neighborhood houses did not present a suitable background for the artwork. I placed his car on a background that had an interesting horizon in the distance and a very dramatic sky. Then I proceeded to create the art from that composition. I'm happy to say that my client loved the results. Click on the image for a better view.

Digital Artworks ~ by Doris Glovier
What a lovely way to spend the afternoon! Lunch at the Atlantic Hotel front porch on a balmy September afternoon is a nice way to catch up with a friend. A delicious salad and warm crusty bread along with a nice glass of Shiraz is sure to set the tone for a wonderful visit! This artwork was among several that I have currently hanging at The Globe Theater's Balcony Gallery in Berlin, MD. I'm happy to say it has been sold and has a new home!
Check out the Globe's website. I am featured in the artist section!

Digital art created from your photograph or mine makes a wonderful, personal gift for the holiday. I'd be happy to create one for you! Click the image for a closer view.

These belong to the same individual. I'm thinking he is pretty keen on the color red. What do you think? Click on images for a better view.

Nature Trail

These shots were all taken earlier this week along the Pocomoke Nature Trail with the forest and river as a backdrop. The autumn leaves were past their prime but there were still some beautiful colors to see. Hope you enjoy this up close and personal experience with nature! Summer Florals

I adore photographing nature and my artist's eye cannot resist shooting the most glorious of mother nature's colorful creations. Flowers are pleasing in so many ways. They are certainly beautiful to behold and are most often delightful to smell. My neighbors often find me hovering over their flower beds with my camera focused on whatever is currently blooming in their yard. There is an added bonus in a couple of these too! I hope you enjoy viewing these as much as I did photographing them! Clicking on the images will enlarge them for a closer view.Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Dockside Gulls
This day was extremely hot. It was August, in the middle of a 95 degree day with 90% humidity. The gulls that congregate on one of the docks that I frequent were irritable and obviously suffering from the unbearable heat. Most of them were perched quietly with their mouths gaped open, like the poor guy below, but these two were fighting over the spot on this post. They looked exactly how I felt that day...miserable! Click on the images for a better view.
This was a beautiful crisp February Day. As you can see these guys look quite comfortable under these conditions. It had snowed overnight but was warming up nicely. What a difference in their demeanor! Gulls fascinate me so you will be seeing more of them in future posts.
